NNEDV Mourns the Passing of Senator Ted Kennedy

Sue Else, President of NNEDV, today issued the following statement mourning the loss of Sen. Ted Kennedy and extending sympathy to his family. “Senator Ted Kennedy was truly an ally in the movement to end domestic violence. For decades, he was a passionate champion for civil rights and equality. He was instrumental in the passage of landmark legislation that criminalized gender-based violence and funded services for victims of domestic abuse. His leadership and vision have helped countless victims across the country. Senator Kennedy’s death is a loss to all Americans and especially to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. The National Network to End Domestic Violence joins the nation in mourning and extends its sincerest condolences to Senator Kennedy’s family.”
