Verizon Employee Volunteerism
September 15, 2008

Verizon Communications is a strong supporter of domestic violence awareness and prevention. Verizon supports a variety of employee, local and national philanthropic programs, all designed to provide resources to domestic violence organizations and the people they serve. Verizon programs include HopeLine, "Shower for the Shelter" (an employee-giving campaign) and over $5 million per year in grants to national and local domestic violence organizations.
To get more employees personally involving in supporting domestic violence organizations, and in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Verizon Foundation is launching a company-wide campaign focused on promoting employee volunteerism with domestic violence agencies. The Verizon Foundation invites all domestic violence agencies to submit volunteer opportunities for posting to Verizon's employee volunteer board.
