Memories and Honor Travel Around the State
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women and the 20th Anniversary of the MN Clothesline Project. Through the encouragement & support of JoAnne Boorman from Someplace Safe & the Sheila Wellstone Institute, we launched the first ever statewide traveling display of the entire 20 years of the Clothesline Project.
The clothesline project is a national art project started by women in Massachusetts as a memorial to the victims and survivors of domestic violence. The project involves designing t-shirts to remember the women and children murdered as a result of domestic violence and child abuse. The shirts are then hung on a clothesline displayed in a public location. The purpose is to create a visual memorial to the casualties and survivors of the war against women.
Since 1989, at least 446 women and 176 children have been murdered due to domestic violence in Minnesota. It’s time to end this senseless violence that not only takes lives, but creates endless despair for family members, leaves hundreds of children motherless and devastates communities.

Visit our "Donate" page (link upper left) to find out how you can partner with us to help end domestic violence so that there are no more t-shirts to hang.
