The FTC enforces federal antitrust and consumer protection laws. In addition to carrying out its statutory enforcement responsibilities, the FTC advances the policies underlying Congressional mandates through cost-effective non-enforcement activities, such as consumer education. As part of its consumer education campaign, the FTC maintains an extensive clearinghouse of consumer fact sheets in English and Spanish and lists of rules and acts that protect consumers on topics such as credit, privacy, identity theft and investments.
