Women's Resource Center, Inc (WRC)

Description

Seeking a Legal Director to manage the civil legal representation component of the Barbara J. Hart Justice Center as well as the grants, reporting and overall operation of the Justice Center. Coordinate and supervise WRC's civil legal representation for domestic/sexual violence survivors in Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties in accordance with philosophy and mission of WRC and in full compliance with all funding sources. Responsible to assure provision of civil legal representation which is client-centered including the provision of legal information, consultation and representation for participants. Supervise the project's staff attorney(s) and legal asst.. Partner with domestic violence and sexual assault advocates t address the comprehensive needs of survivors of intimate partner violence. Work collaboratively with agency leaders to plan and conduct outreach, training, and systems advocacy efforts.

Qualifications

Law degree; license to practice law in PA within 6mths. of hire. Five years supervisory experience in family law, public interest, or legal services org. Experience in the practice of family law; woman-centered advocacy experience with domestic/sexual abuse survivors.
